E-learning: Learn Hip Hop Dance
OK, after you already learned how to break dance, we can move step forward. Basically, we are moving to the foundations of street style dance, and that’s Hip Hop dancing.
Hip Hop is the godfather of all street style dancing forms. It includes a wide range of styles such as popping, breaking, krumping and house dance; developed through many styles defined as old school hip hop, hype hip hop, free style, hip hop new style, funk style, etc.

People involved into cultural histories, teach us that late 1980’s were crucial for Hip Hop, because it was the era for new directions; a sort of mashup from many different styles creating new forms of expressiveness. As the public started to accept these forms as not being criminal and dirty, but a new set of languages for the new generation, this resulted in wider acceptance of Hip Hop dancing.
Luckily, today we have many dance companies mixin’ up Hip Hop styles, contemporary dance and ballet… I blogged twice on this topic here: Interview with Robert Hylton: I think I’m a dance junkie; Martha Cooper aka kodak girl: street art can’t be stopped!
